AXE Heats up PFW With Menswear

Did the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium just heat up? When an invite calls for menswear and swimwear, count me in! Red peeptoe snakeskin heels and humongous beat up bags couldn't stop me. AXE, a brand known for its iconic and witty ads which make any AXE user become an instant girl magnet teams up with ten designers as they showcase their Spring/Summer trends for 2011.
The stage is set to a futuristic mood and feel.
By the way, did I tell you Marc Nelson hosted this event? Marc Nelson, ladies, Marc Nelson! He was gracious enough to have pictures taken with his fans after the show. MARC NELSON! Yes, I'm not over the fact.

The designers featured their own styles and interpretations for the AXE Collection. Take for example Bang Pineda's use of punches of color, from bright citrus oranges to cool blues. The collection is a statement on its own with the use of bright colors and classic cuts.

Cool, casual and laid back. Peeptoe detail too!

Classic black from Anthony Nocom. Shirt optional? With abs like these, why not!
Ulysses King goes Bollywood - flowy fabrics and bindhis and all.
Love the bag.

And more pictures too...
Boys could wear short shorts too, just as we girls can.

Swimwear! BOING!!!!

Follow suit ladies, you can't get enough.

Classic white.

After the last set, here's a surprise that came in. At the front row, lovely models in black were strategically seated with the audience. These girls stood up and went near the catwalk. It was then that ladies in [faux] leather leotards appeared onstage too with some of the male models, showing the ultimate AXE effect.

Leather leotards. I found out also that these leather bodysuits were created by good friend and accessories designer Dennis Celestial. Known for his elaborate accessories that are perfectly structured up to the last tiny gem glued on, Dennis's bodysuits showcase the same impeccable quality his work is known for. The simple cuts hug the models at the right places and the shine gives just the right amount of oomph. As soon as these girls came up, I could feel that this got the boys' attention. Heehee. :) Anyone got pictures of these too?
Spot Kate. ;-)
Cold water please. :)
